My Spring Garden is doing Great! I alway’s love it when we get a nice long rain. The plants thirst for it and respond by really taking off. I’ve harvested my first strawberry and have started on Integrated Pest Management by planting companion plants of annuals and herbs. My seedlings have sprouted and will hopefully be growing their way to beautiful colors soon and driving nasty bugs away. I’ve planted Geraniums, (My absolute favorite plant that is seen on every porch in Spain!) Zinnias, Nasturtiums, and Marigolds. I’ve also planted Chamomile in between my onions! It’s supposed to enhance their flavor and drive some nasty critters away. I still need to incorporate Basil, Cilantro, Thyme, Anise, and Oregano. I’ll add some of these to my Spring Garden and to my 3 Summer Garden plots at my mom and dad’s. I’m also planning on planting tons of Basil around my chicken coop and back deck as it’s a natural fly and mosquito repellant. I still have a long way to go and am hoping to finally be done with all of my planting this weekend. Below are some pics of my gardens so far.

Spring Garden
I planted marigolds around the whole parameter of the plot. (The rain may have drowned some of them out Broccoli
Radishes
Peas. The bunnies are finally leaving them alone. Still need to put some hemp string up so they can climb, oops

Fava Beans – Need to string these up also

Cauliflower
Geraniums starting to grow!
Brussels Sprouts
Chamomile starting to grow in between my onions

Tomatillo Plants, for fresh green salsa!!
Summer Garden Plots and composter

Tomato Plants – I am so proud of these babies!! I grew them from seeds indoors and through trial and error they are doing great!! Heirloom tomato’s from Seed Savers Exchange.
Amish Paste
Brandywine
Italian Heirloom
I also grew my peppers and eggplants from seed indoors. I grew AMAZING Spanish Padron Peppers, Italian Marconi and Buran Red Peppers. My Eggplants are also a variety from Spain. I grow from seeds indoors to grow Spanish varieties that you can’t get in the states and so that they are Heirloom varieties and not genetically modified. I can already smell Pimientos Asados!!

I just finally planted last week (a long, arduous task since Trinity and Angelina did most of it!) and it is so much fun to go out now and see all the little plants coming up. Our strawberry patch is in yr 2 now and bursting with berries! We haven’t picked our first one yet – maybe today!
Did you know the Twitter API always request an idea and password? My Brussel Sprouts look sickly, the leaves are all purple.
I think I am going to dig them up and replant them in my home garden. I love that you are growing Fava Beans! I have some dried ones maybe I will throw those in the ground and see what they decide to do. You’ve got some really interesting tomatoes and peppers planted! I made a bamboo teepee in my home garden but I need to find some of that basketball looking nylon stuff to wrap around it. My pea vines look lost.
I think I saw you taking pictures the other day, not to be creepy :/ I thought you were a highschooler! Ha.
It's a joy for me to see a garden filled with produce. My gardening skills is very limited. Hope to learn more from you.
